October 1, 2010 UPDATE – Serial Burglar Strikes Mason District During the overnight hours of Thursday, September 30 into the early morning hours of Friday, October 1, three additional homes were burglarized and an attempt was made at another home in the Fairfax area. In each of the three burglaries, entry was made through unlocked or open doors. A screen was cut in the attempted burglary. There are now 87 incidents related to this serial burglar. Of those, 57 are burglaries or attempted burglaries. The remaining 30 incidents are larcenies from vehicles, suspicious persons and suspicious noise complaints. The numbers continue to remain fluid and change daily as reports are investigated. Police continue to urge residents throughout the county to lock their doors and windows; this includes garage doors. Additional safety tips are provided in prior messages.
