Crime Solvers Still Seeks Suspect in Year-Old Homicide

Fairfax County Crime Solvers is still asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the suspect who murdered a 19-year-old woman one year ago on Sunday, June 27, 2010. Police were initially called to the area of Arlington Boulevard and Williams Drive at 3:34 p.m. for a reported vehicle crash. Officers located a 2008 two-door Toyota in a ditch off the south side of Arlington Boulevard. Vanessa V. Pham, of 6700 James Lee Street #138 in Falls Church, was deceased inside the car with trauma to her upper body, not consistent with the crash.

Through their investigation, detectives learned Vanessa Pham visited a business in the Fairfax Plaza Shopping Center, located in the 2900 block of Gallows Road, around 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 27. She did not appear in distress at that time.

Video surveillance shows Pham’s car in the Fairfax Plaza Shopping Center. The images were captured a short time before police responded to the crash. They are asking the public to pay particular attention to the portion of the video when Pham’s car is attempting to exit the parking lot. There are several vehicles behind her car and others on Gallows Road attempting to enter the parking lot.

The video is available at http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/police/news-releases/2010/070710vanessaphamvideoreleased.htm

The police department’s informational flyer is available at http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/police/news-releases/2010/063010phamflyer.pdf

Anyone who may have seen Vanessa Pham or her vehicle around the shopping center that day or anyone who has information about her murder is asked to contact Crime Solvers by phone at 1-866-411-TIPS(8477), e-mail at www.fairfaxcrimesolvers.org or text “TIP187” plus your message to CRIMES(274637). In addition to the $1,000 cash reward offered by Crime Solvers, a private cash reward of $20,000 is also being offered for information that leads to an arrest. This private reward offer expires on June 27, 2012. As always, callers never have to give their names or appear in court. Find us on Facebook.
