Crime Solvers Seeks Suspects Stealing High-End Eyewear

Fairfax County Crime Solvers is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the persons responsible for stealing expensive, framed glasses from vision stores throughout the region. Detectives are aware of four reported cases in Fairfax County this year

:

  •   Wednesday, July 6 at Steiner Vision – 6201 Leesburg Pike in the Falls Church area. Six pairs of Gucci eyewear were stolen.

  • ·        Wednesday, July 6 at True Vision – 6643 Arlington Boulevard in the Falls Church area. One pair of Gucci eyewear was stolen.

  • ·        Monday, July 11 at Great Falls Eye Center – 9909 Georgetown Pike in the Great Falls area. Four pairs of eyewear were stolen.

  • ·        Thursday, November 10 at For Eyes – 6242 Little River Turnpike in the Alexandria area. Six pairs of eyewear were stolen.

In each incident, at least two suspects enter the store. One suspect distracts the employee while the other suspect conceals the eyewear. In one case the suspect concealed one pair of expensive glasses and replaced them with an inexpensive pair

Detectives believe at least four suspects are involved in these thefts. Additionally, they believe these cases are connected to a string of similar thefts occurring in Montgomery County. Detectives are releasing photos of the suspects in the hope that someone will recognize them.

The suspects are described as two men and two women. The first male suspect is described as black and middle-aged. He is tall with a thin build and wears glasses. He is wearing a red and white striped shirt in some of the photos. The first female suspect is described as black, heavy-set and 40 to 60 years old. The other male and female suspects are black.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Solvers by phone at 1-866-411-TIPS(8477), e-mail at www.fairfaxcrimesolvers.org or text “TIP187” plus your message to CRIMES(274637). A $100 to $1,000 cash reward will be paid for information that leads to an arrest. As always, callers never have to give their names or appear in court.
