Crime Solvers Seeks Identity of Suspect in Burglary and Sexual Assault Case

Fairfax County Crime Solvers continues to ask for the public’s assistance in identifying the man responsible for breaking into a home and sexually assaulting a 72-year-old woman. The incident occurred around 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2007 in the 3900 block of Larchwood Road. Recently, a private reward of $5,000 cash was offered in addition to the $1,000 reward already offered through Crime Solvers. The $5,000 reward expires January, 2009.

Crime Solvers Seeks Identity of Suspect in Burglary and Sexual Assault Case

Fairfax County Crime Solvers is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man responsible for breaking into a home and robbing then sexually assaulting a woman inside. Police were called to the home, located in the 3900 block of Larchwood Road in the Falls Church area, at 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, July 1.

Officers determined that the 72-year-old woman awoke around 2:30 a.m. and got out of bed. She was confronted in her bedroom doorway by a man who demanded money. The victim complied with the suspect’s demands and relinquished an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing the single family residence. There were no other occupants in the house at the time of the assault. The victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital and treated for her injuries.

The suspect was described as a man who was approximately 5 feet to 5 feet 5 inches tall. He had a thin build and spoke English with a Spanish accent. He covered the upper and lower portions of his face but his eyes were visible. He wore dark-colored clothing.
